The Undiscovered Secrets of Aquitaine, France

Most people think of France as Paris or Provence!!! The Aquitaine offers just as many gems, if not more and without the madness of holiday makers who choose to go to Paris and the Cote d’Azur.

Spring is almost here. The birds are returning and are already making their presence felt.

In March we have the Hossegor Braderie 2016. This is the weekend of all the sales. If you are looking for great deals visit Hossegor!! Companies such as Billabong, Lizzy, Lizzard, Quiksilver, Roxy, RVCA, Rip Curl, O’Neill and more…. Most of the outlet shops slash their prices to sell off their stock to make room for their Summer wares.

The main Hossegor strip will have loads of winter stock they need to sell. This is also the time to invest in a new wetsuit and surfboard.

Not only is it the weekend of shopping but it is also Easter weekend. France and chocolate are synonymous. Our local chocolate shops will leave you in awe of their awesome creations. They may not be outfits made of chocolate, as they are on the fashion ramps of Paris, but they are really beautiful. So much so, they are too good to eat!!!

Recommended Restaurants in Hossegor area: Hossegor Restaurants, Capbreton Restaurants and Seignosse restaurants and eateries as usual will be putting their best menus on offer. There are so many to choose from. My favourite place to eat on the Hossegor strip is the Tapas Drive which gives you a little taste of so many different flavours, from French to Spanish and mixed.

The degustation Huites Hossegor is not to be missed especially on a beautiful evening. There are four simple style eateries at the end of the Hossegor Lac, next to The Station Bar. All four restaurants offer a lovely view over the lake. A glass or two of Chablis wine and a platter of oysters is something very special. You are also able to order a tapas type menu if you are not a fan of oysters.

The Touring Cafe always offers a fabulous menu, great staff and delicious food.

Should you need a simple pizza - Le Napoli, definitely offers the best in town. I have also enjoyed their duck breast and my husband loves the steak. Their choices of wine are excellent too.
